FLavio Traversa is a composer and a producer from Switzerland
I’m a Swiss composer and sound designer, but above all, a music and video game enthusiast. The spectrum of my work ranges from fusion to heavy metal and from electronic to fully orchestrated tracks, with roots anchored in the progressive rock genre.
I started piano lessons at the age of 7, followed by contemporary guitar studies comprising of classical theory, jazz harmony and ensemble lessons. After early experiments with high school bands, I joined the Swiss alternative rock band Plain as guitarist in 2010. My love for progressive rock music brought me to found together with the drummer Jonathan “Fox” Foffa the progressive metal band Watergate, and in summer of 2015 our demo EP “Beginning” was released. Together with guitar-maker Simone Calabrese, we designed an innovative 8-string guitar model called Nameless 8, which became very popular among guitar players as a versatile and ergonomic instrument.
Since 2016 my interests shifted towards composition for media and videogames, where I proudly developed long lasting collaborations with Violet Saint, Volker Elzner Games, Hellmade Games, and Stelex Software. I released a collection called Early Works, with the intent to better illustrate to the public my approach to music composition. Meanwhile I sporadically play guitar live with the Gianluca Ferro solo project and produce tracks for local Swiss singers and bands.
